Hey everyone :)
I have arrived here in switzerland and it is not what I expected...it is MUCH better than what I expected. WOW. It is sooooo beautiful here, and from the landscape around my town is sooo green.
Ok, so as for my trip. I was told by Lufthansa that I should arrive at the airport 3 hours prior to my international flight. So mom and I arrived at the airport around 10:30 am to find that check in was as simple as walking straight up to the desk and typing a few numbers in the computer and simply dropping my bags off. Well, we then had 2 hours to kill...haha so we decided to sit in front of security and chat it up before I left. What an exciting thing to do, sit by security...I guess this day we were there, TSA was doing some drills for security breaches, etc. because this one guy sat in front of us looking very strange. He had on girl sunglasses and a yankees hat and was just figiting around alot. We also saw him speak to a TSA lady who walked by (which we thought was really strange..). Well he then proceded to go stand right in front of the arrivals area then out of nowhere started walking up the arrivals area where 3 tsa people were telling him he had to turn around. then out of NOWHERE this guy just books it through these gaurds and they turned and ran after him yelling 'FREEZE'
you can imagine everyones reaction.....anyway it was fake though because the guy just casually walked back to the opening without his sunglasses and hat on and was talking and laughing with other security gaurds...but wow what a thrill it was for us...
As for on my flight. I first flew in to Denver which was fine. The airport is pretty nice, and my wait wasn't bad at all. While I was waiting, I spotted a guy who was really cute (haha) and guess what.....he had the seat RIGHT next to me on a 10 hour flight. haha he was nice, but found out he was pretty old actually. He told me he was in the german army and joined in 1992 which automatically made me 6 years old then.....so put one and one together equals he is way older than me. But he was good lookin'
I also sat next to a guy from Puerto Rico who seemed really nice too. He worked in Iraq and still had 3 more flights to go after this one to germany. I would have hated to be that guy...but overall it was cool to be a girl in between 2 cute guys who were nice.
As for my arrival into Frankfurt, it was not as scary as I thought it might be. I was afraid there were going to be all sorts of german everywhere and I wouldn't know where to go...but it was really easy. They didnt ask questions, I just stood in line, they stamped my passport and I was ready to get my bags. :)
Michael's parents picked me up from the airport, (they are two of the nicest people I have ever met.) and his dad was hillarious. They picked me up and we rode home on the autobahn (nice) which was really fun. However, I did fall asleep in the car on the way home...
Well, when we got to Michael's house I again fell asleep to have Michael come in my room to surprise me. He is so cute :) After about another hour or so I woke up and him and I talked to my friend Katherine and then went to see Karlsruhe. :) I had alot of fun actually. The city was so neat. just the way the streets are laid out and building of old and new mixing in with each other. My favorite though was the Karlsruhe Schloss. (castle) I have pictures that I will be uploading soon.
Anyway, everything here is amazing so far. I still am suffering from JetLag (I just want to sleep during the day and am awake at night but even now I am sleeping all night and want to sleep all day...) but my body will get used to it. I will be writing more later about my town in Switzerland, etc. :)
