Journey to Switzerland

Hey everyone!! So I have just confirmed my position as a Nanny in Switzerland, just between Zurich and Basel in a sweet small town with an awesome family! I will be leaving the good old U.S. and A Sept. 4th. I will be staying there from Sept. 2008 to Sept 2009, and while I am also watching and tending the kids, I will be taking german courses on the side 2x's a week, so mein DEUTSCH will be GUT!! I have to admit, I am super nervous, but also VERY excited. I already have friends who live within 2-5 hours from my town, which will be great! I wont feel like I am in europe alone. I am SUPER excited!! The Lord truly has let everything fall into place for this, and its amazing. (PS. THE PICTURE IS THE VIEW FROM WHERE I WILL BE LIVING)

Now, as for the process..it was a close call. Here it is the...2nd of Sept and I just now recieved my visa. *whew* I actually missed the mailman this morning and found a notice in our mailbox. When I went to the post office, I was told the carrier still had my package and that I wouldn't be able to have it until tomorrow. Well, I am a big believer in never giving up, so what did I do?? I drove around trying to track down a mailman in my area. I even stalked a post office truck to find a random postlady on the road so I stopped to ask her. She gave me a number to a lady at the post office who was able to contact the carrier, and wha-la! I have it now.

As for packing...well I would have finished alot of stuff this weekend, however I had a surprise visit from a friend in FL, so instead of doing what I needed to I was entertaining. NOW its packing time.

I leave on the 4th at 1:30pm through Denver and then on to Frankfurt. I am a little nervous because that seems like a VERY long travel to take on one stop for gas...across america and the atlantic to get us to Frankfurt. Oh well..When I arrive into Frankfurt, I will have a friends family waiting for me :) How nice of them!!! I will be going to my friend's house and will hang out until he gets home. We will have so much fun! Then the next day I get on a train and head straight to Basel where my host family will be picking me up! Yay!

Well, I shouldn't be on here too much longer, I have lots to do. 2 days...I can't believe it!
