For the first time in a while, I actually have an idea of what I will write ahead of time on here. I have been what seems to be in a mind fog, not having the slightest idea of what to write about.
Have you ever taken the time to read your friends blogs or check their facebook and have the thought that their life seems so much more interesting than your own? I feel like this from time to time, however when I wake up and look around and see where I am living, the situations I am in, is when I get a dose of reality. I must admit though, I think its easy to fall into the trap of living your life day to day and not really LIVING your life day to day in its FULLEST potential. I need to become more aware of my decisions and surroundings. My life is just as interesting as others, and if its not, well its my own fault I guess! :D Life is what you make of it! It comes with sorrows, joys, downfalls, and high rises! Its really what you make of it through your own perspective. Of course its not easy to just switch this happy go lucky attitude, but with persistance and determination you can be in the place you want to be in.

Random Thoughts

Exerpts from Rachel's Diary

"I desire to have a family and build those lasting relationships for eternity, I just need the Lord to present the opportunity before me."

"Sometimes we may come across as our own worst enemy."

"Do we spend too much time thinking of the future when we miss feeling the opportunities of the present?"

"Is the moment of now one of the greatest teachers we have?"

"The greatest thing you´ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return."

As I was sitting in the living room looking across the Zurich valley I had a thought come to my mind. Some of you may not share the same faith as I do, however I can testify to this thought. That no matter where you are in this big world, no matter what faith or nationality you are, the Lord loves each and every one of us the same. Something I LOVE to do when pondering is to watch the clouds float by and then my absolute favorite is to look at the stars at night. Only then am I really able to grasp the enormity of how powerful this plan is of where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going. I believe that if I didnt carry this knowledge, I would feel very small and lost in this giant universe we are in.

Experiences in Life

As I have been sitting here struggling to think of things to type, a song comes on my computer called "I have been there.." by Mark Schultz. (Amazing song by the way..) and well I would like to first share my feelings on how grateful I am to be able to have the opportunity to write this from Europe. It has been my life long dream to live here in Europe, and to finally be here and write this is amazing. It is amazing in how the Lord can guide and direct us to different places in our lives. I know I have alot of work to do here, not only am I still struggling with the language but I know I have alot of missionary work to do as well. I still have those moments where I see someone I really have no clue about, but have this burning desire to talk to them on the train....but then I'm stuck! because I dont speak german. I need to break out of my shell however and just see if they speak english as well. However the culture here isnt a very talkative one. :-P People just arent as outgoing as in America, not to say anything against Europe, but when it comes to talking to complete strangers, its just not common here. I would be spotted as an American REAL quick. :D
My main point in writing this blog though is to sort of show myself and others that if you set goals, and really work towards them, you CAN attain them. Make sure you have the Lord on your side however. When I first decided to come here, it was a rush but then I made sure to have a blessing before I came and it was for sure this is the place I need to be.
So going back to the song I mentioned, if we are willing to take a risk now and then, surely we will experience trials, but then we now move forward with 2 precious gifts. One, you have learned alot, and two you now can say "I have been there.." and use your knowledge to help comfort others through their trying times. This is a perfect example of Christ, and we are to be like him, right? :D
